1/4" Meg Stainless Steel Softwash & Downstream Tips — All Sizes
From
$8.50
Stainless steel 1/4" Meg-thread softwash and downstream tips across the full range of spray angles and orifice sizes. Select your exact tip from the dropdown.
Downstream tips do a different job than high pressure tips. They run at low pressure specifically so a downstream injector can draw chemical into the water stream — the pressure drop through the injector is what creates the suction. Put a high pressure tip on and the injector stops drawing entirely, which is the single most common reason people think their injector has failed when it hasn't.
Orifice size controls both your flow and your chemical draw ratio. A larger orifice moves more solution and typically draws a richer mix; a smaller one is more conservative. Getting this matched to your machine and your target dilution is what makes chemical application repeatable job to job instead of guesswork.
Stainless steel matters more here than almost anywhere else on a rig. Softwash tips live in sodium hypochlorite, which destroys brass and plated fittings over time. Stainless holds up to chlorine exposure far longer, and a corroded tip changes its spray pattern and draw characteristics before it visibly fails.
Spray tips are wear items, and they fail quietly. Grit passing through at high pressure gradually erodes the orifice, which widens the pattern and drops impact force long before the tip looks worn. A machine that seems to have lost pressure very often just needs fresh tips — check those before you start diagnosing the pump.
Grime Task Force stocks the full softwash tip range because roof cleaning and house washing depend on consistent chemical delivery, and that consistency starts at the tip.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a downstream tip and a high pressure tip? Downstream tips run at low pressure so the injector can draw chemical. A high pressure tip stops the draw completely.
My injector stopped drawing — is the injector bad? Check your tip first. Running a high pressure nozzle instead of a soap or downstream tip is the most common cause of no draw.
How does orifice size affect my chemical mix? Larger orifices move more solution and generally draw a richer mix. Match the tip to your machine and target dilution.
Why stainless instead of brass for softwash? Sodium hypochlorite corrodes brass and plated fittings. Stainless holds up far longer in chlorine service.
How do I read the tip code? The first two digits are the spray angle, the rest is orifice size which determines flow.
