1/4" Meg Brass Softwash & Downstream Tips — All Sizes
$7.50
Brass 1/4" Meg-thread softwash and downstream tips in the full range of spray angles and orifice sizes. Select your tip from the dropdown.
Downstream tips run at low pressure on purpose. A downstream injector draws chemical using the pressure drop created as water passes through it, and that only happens at low pressure. Install a high pressure tip and the draw stops completely — which is the most common reason an injector gets blamed for a problem the nozzle caused.
Brass is the economical choice for softwash tips. It's durable, machines cleanly for consistent orifice dimensions, and costs meaningfully less than stainless. The tradeoff is chemical life: sodium hypochlorite is hard on brass, so expect a shorter service interval than you'd get from stainless. For crews who replace tips regularly anyway, brass is often the better value; for heavy daily chlorine use, stainless pays for itself.
Orifice size sets both flow and draw ratio, so matching the tip to your machine and target chemical concentration is what makes your mix repeatable from job to job.
Spray tips are wear items, and they fail quietly. Grit passing through at high pressure gradually erodes the orifice, which widens the pattern and drops impact force long before the tip looks worn. A machine that seems to have lost pressure very often just needs fresh tips — check those before you start diagnosing the pump.
Grime Task Force stocks both brass and stainless across the full range so you can choose based on how hard you run chemicals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Brass or stainless for softwash? Brass costs less and works well if you replace tips regularly. Stainless lasts considerably longer under heavy sodium hypochlorite use.
Why won't my injector draw with this tip? Confirm you're running a low pressure downstream tip. High pressure tips stop chemical draw entirely.
How does orifice size affect the mix? Larger orifices move more solution and typically draw a richer mix. Match to your machine and target dilution.
How long do brass tips last in chlorine? Shorter than stainless. Sodium hypochlorite is corrosive to brass, so inspect regularly and expect a shorter replacement interval.
What does the tip code mean? First two digits are spray angle, remaining digits are orifice size which determines flow.
